The IDEAS Hub provides opportunities for students to lead and participate in competitions based on innovation and sustainability. Supported by the team at the IDEAS Hub, all 3 competitions are student led. 


IDEA Hacks

Open to Public Participation

IDEA Hacks 2017 will be a 2 day hackathon for youth aged 11 to 18 years old to create a project based on a theme given on the day. 
Participants trade in their weekend for an almighty team hacking session, where they create different creative projects in teams to further improve on their computer science, design, and business skills and to present their work to judges for mentorship, recognition, and prizes.


Open to Public Participation

The Microthon is an annual single-day event hosted at the IDEAS Hub, aim to introduce coding for younger audiences and exposes kids to the latest technologies from around the world. It is the first student-led hackathon for younger students of age 7-14 years, using the Micro:bit from BBC.

This competition takes place yearly in May.

LIFE Challenge@UWCSEA 

Only for UWCSEA students 

The LIFE Challenge is intended to inspire and support student changemakers to ideate and create solutions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). At its simplest, it is an extended incubator process for student social enterprises.The challenge will seek to mentor and nurture teams over an extended period to develop their ideas into viable solutions. Each team will be assigned a specific mentor and various workshops open to all teams will also be run.
