The IDEAS Hub hosted the Creative Coding SG Meet Up on the 16th of February. The group tries to bring people interested in the creative, artistic, beautiful, sometimes crazy side of coding together.

During the meet up, they screened a documentary called CLOUDS. CLOUDS is about creativity and code — an interactive conversation with 40 different artists, hackers, and thinkers who are revolutionizing art and design on the internet.

It was a really good evening as students and members of the group came together to discuss the future of programming. Did we mention there were bean bags and pizza?

On the 4 and 11 of February, The IDEAS Hub welcomed its very first batch of volunteers. As the IDEAS Hub grows, we need volunteers who are able to help out with daily activities and facilitate projects. In both of these training sessions, volunteers were taught woodworking, 3D design and safety basics.

The sessions were open to Parents, Staff and Alumni of UWCSEA. Students are be able to join the IDEAS Hub Leaders CCA if they would like to be involved with the space.

The volunteers had lots of fun learning how to use power tools for the first time. In the 3D design session, they also used Autodesk Fusion 360 to make their very own trinkets.

We hope to see more of the community use the space soon!
