Ben Morgan 

Director of IT and the IDEAS Hub, UWCSEA

Ben Morgan joined the College in 2002 as the Head of Lower School IT and became the IT Director in 2005.
 
Ben studied Computer Science at University in the UK to the Masters level. He then worked for several years in commercial IT before training as a teacher in the mid-90s. Specialising in Computing and IT, Ben worked in the UK for a year before moving to Asia. He worked in Sri Lanka for seven years from 1995 to 2002 at the Colombo International School (CIS). During this time he obtained a MA in Educational Management and was the Deputy Head when he left in 2002. Ben is passionate about using technology to support teaching and learning as well as the need to develop the skills of young students so that they can prosper in a world dominated by digital communications.
 
Ben is married to Wanda and they have three children, two girls and a boy. Away from the classroom Ben enjoys playing football and squash and, when the children permit, he is a keen diver.

 

Melanie Tan 
Programme Manager

Melanie has experience in conceptualising design competitions, facilitation and event management across various fields. She is in charge of designing innovative programmes that will help students at UWCSEA develop important skills for social impact. If you would like to speak about developing  partnerships and project collaborations with the IDEAS Hub, Melanie would be the best person to speak to.

 

Colin Peter 
Technical Manager

Colin is the first person you will meet at the IDEAS Hub. Always prepared with a smile, Colin is the “go-to” person who provides mentoring to students intending to make their projects at the hub. He is in charge of ensuring that all users of the hub develops technical know how of using equipments and materials safely.
